pHystat 850 is a unique additive for water-based inks, coatings and liquid which is used to stabilize pH levels. Due to environmental conditions at application, products can have severe shifts in pH. This occurs, for example, in open ink fountains where the amine portion of an aqueous ink can evaporate thereby reducing the pH. pHystat 850 has the unique ability of "locking-in" the higher pH portions of aqueous resins. This acts to stabilize or inhibit the shifting of pH levels in aqueous resins.

pHystat 850 should be added at the rate of .5% to 3.5% with exact addition levels determined by need. To start it is recommended that 1.5% by weight be added. The percentage is based on the total weight of the batch. Addition should be done while mixing with a low-shear agitator. The quantity added can be adjusted to a higher or lower amount depending on the performance achieved.

pHystat 850, as with all ADM Tronics' products, is water based, non-toxic and formulated from ingredients cleared for food packaging.
