DESCRIPTION

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 is a poly carboxylic agent. It gives very high efficiency in dispersing inorganic pigments into water and also in lowering the viscosity of pigment slurries.

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 allows the formulation of highly concentrated pigment suspension which is otherwise difficult to obtain.

ADVANTAGES

1. NOPCOSPERSE L-400 improves the dispersion of inorganic pigments such as clay calcium carbonate, tale, titanium dioxide, alumunium trihydrate, zinc oxide, satin white etc. and markedly lowers the viscosity of the slurry.
2. The pigment suspension produced with NOPCOSPERSE L-400 is so stable to he that its viscosity remains unchanged at elevated storage and application temperatures.
3. When NOPCOSPERSE L-400 is used as a dispersing agent for paper coating pigments, especially for coating mixes in which a starch binder is incorporated, it has the effect of holding the viscosity level of the pigment slurry constant, unlike other pigment dispersing agents.

APPLICATION

DISPERSING AGENT FOR PAPER COATING PIGMENT

Inorganic polyphosphates such as sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, etc. conventionally used as pigment dispersants have the following disadvantages:

• They cannot lower the viscosity of pigment scurries sufficiently
• They tend to lose pigment dispersing effects with the elapse of time and therefore, the viscosity of the suspension (slurry) rises with the elapse of time.

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 eliminates these advantages

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 is miscible with in all proportions

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 when used for dispersing paper coating pigments, is especially suitable for use in dispersing coating mixes in which the binder consists of starch and latex.

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 allows the preparation of low viscosity and high-solids mixes, suitable for modem coating machines.

The use of NOPCOSPERSE L-400 offers the following advantages:

1. NOPCOSPERSE L-400 considerably stabilizes suspensions of inorganic pigments such as clay, calcium carbonate, talc, titanium dioxide, alumunium trihydrate, zinc oxide, satin white etc. It is particularly effective in dispersing satin-white which is difficult to disperse with an inorganic phosphate.
2. NOPCOSPERSE L-400 allows the preparation of high pigment slurries ensuring optimum dispersion and the formulation of high solids coating
3. NOPCOSPERSE L-400 produces no problems in coating applications by a high- speed blade coater, because it stabilizes the viscosity of coating mixes
4. The starch/latex coating mixes tend to become thickened during storage under temperature conditions of 25degree C and higher. However, this problem can be completely overcome by the use of NOPCOSPERSE L-400 as the pigment dispersing agent.
5. NOPCOSPERSE L-400 has the effect of holding the viscosity level of pigment slurries constant.

PACKAGING,STORAGE AND HANDLING

NOPCOSPERSE L-400 is packed in lined steel drums of nett weight 250 kg.

There are no special storage conditions but it is recommended that the product be stored away from direct sunlight. It should also be protected from freezing.
